Field Service Technician – Fire Alarm Installation
Location: Bensenville, IL
Job Type: Direct Hire, Full-Time
Pay Rate: $28.00 – $40.00/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial fire alarm systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, the ability to work independently in the field, and excellent customer service abilities. This role requires travel to customer sites and interaction with clients, contractors, and project managers.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, test, inspect, and service fire alarm systems
- Troubleshoot system issues and perform necessary repairs
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national fire and electrical codes
- Conduct system testing and inspections to ensure proper operation
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding service and installation work
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle
- Support emergency service calls and scheduled maintenance visits as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience installing and servicing fire alarm systems preferred
- Knowledge of low-voltage wiring and fire alarm controls
- Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage service schedules
- NICET certification is a plus
- OSHA certification is a plus
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and in good standing
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening, if required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or in various job site conditions
