Position Summary
Our client is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian/General Labor Support team member to maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility. This role includes custodial duties throughout office, production, and shipping areas, as well as providing hands-on support to shipping, maintenance, and production teams as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Cleaning & Sanitation
- Stock bathrooms and office/shop supplies.
- Empty trash cans and replace liners in all assigned areas.
- Vacuum rugs and carpets in offices, engineering, and inspection areas.
- Clean and disinfect restroom fixtures, locker rooms, and breakrooms.
- Mop floors in bathrooms, kitchens, entry areas, inspection, and engineering areas.
- Sweep production floors, shipping areas, and dock bays.
- Operate floor-cleaning machines in production and shipping areas.
- Clean counters, tables, and appliances in break rooms.
- Wash interior and exterior windows (weather permitting).
- Dust entryways, window ledges, tops of cabinets, vents, and other high-reach areas.
- Remove cobwebs and sanitize door handles and other high-touch surfaces.
- Maintain cleanliness in entry areas and foyers, including mopping and dusting.
- Spot-clean bathrooms, locker rooms, and breakrooms between shifts.
- Take garbage to dumpsters regularly.
Equipment & Vehicle Care
- Wipe down machines in shop areas.
- Clean company van as needed.
General Support
- Assist shipping department with packaging or loading as required.
- Support deburring and part clean-up processes as directed.
- Provide assistance to maintenance team as needed for facility upkeep.
Qualifications
- Previous custodial, janitorial, or general labor experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and follow safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Work Environment
- Work will be performed in both office and production settings.
- May be exposed to dust, cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided as required.
