Position Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician/Engineer

Location: Elmhurst, IL

Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Pay: $25.00 – $30.00/hour (based on experience)
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire

Position Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on, skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician/Engineer to support day-to-day building maintenance and equipment functionality. This person will play a key role in ensuring the facility, production systems, and support equipment are maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility infrastructure and production equipment

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems (including AC/DC circuits and 480V high voltage)

  • Support HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and refrigeration systems as needed

  • Accurately complete work orders using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
    Inspect buildings, safety systems, and equipment regularly to identify and resolve any issues

  • Order parts and supplies; coordinate with vendors and contractors

  • Assist in planning and executing facility improvement and repair projects

  • Operate within a control room environment using computerized tools to monitor alerts and dispatch resources

  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and piping schematics

  • Support production through light machine troubleshooting when necessary

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards at all times


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems or associate’s/bachelor’s degree in engineering with 2+ years’ experience

  • Strong knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and systems (including 480V)

  • Ability to lift 45 lbs or more, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling

  • Comfortable standing or sitting at a workstation for extended periods

  • Experience interpreting technical drawings and schematics


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trade certification or state license in Electrical or HVAC

  • Experience with refrigeration or chilled water systems

  • Knowledge of CMMS systems, facility regulations, and OSHA safety protocols

  • Familiarity with machine maintenance in a manufacturing setting
